After studying Jewellery Design in the late 1980s, I spent several years working as a goldsmith. Drawing on my family’s heritage in engineering and wood carving, I blended these techniques to create a range of artwork that reflects these influences and my passions.
My deep love for the African landscape, the bushveld, and its diverse wildlife and flora has provided me with a constant source of inspiration.
By integrating all these elements and combining various techniques and materials in unconventional ways, my designs have evolved into what they are today. I approach every part of the design and manufacture process with a unique perspective—what I call ‘playing’—involving myself in every step from start to finish.
By continually refining my work to achieve uniqueness in both design and execution, I maintain a high standard of craftsmanship. This enables me to collaborate with clients and create bespoke variations of my designs to meet their needs.
Having owned my shop for the past 20 years, I have found a platform to express my inspiration and share my passion with the world and I look forward to sharing this with you here at Afrishack.africa.
